When considering the fine art of seal engraving, you need specialists.

That is where Milne & Yardley Engravers come in. With over 60 years of experience in the trade, there is no reason to go anywhere else.

A seal is a coat of arms, crest or shield engraved onto precious metals or stone. Originating from the middle ages seals were traditionally used by royals and aristocrats to authenticate important documents such as treaties and family documentation.

The seal would have been pressed into hot wax which had been applied to the document. The fine art of seal engraving has remained almost unchanged since medieval times.

Milne & Yardley pride themselves on continuing the traditional and time old method. When seal engraving on gold, silver, platinum, we cut  by hand  and would never use a machine/computer, which is not always the case unfortunately.

By doing this, we can adapt your coat of arms, perhaps only seal engraving the crest or shield, to suit your needs.

Seal engraving is not just for those with title and land. We can design personal monograms and cyphers, as well as engrave any masonic or military logo (whether it be regiment or clan based).

As with ALL our engraving we are more than happy to personally discuss your individual needs, so don't hesitate. Contact us now.
